FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF ROCKMART is open to worshippers of all ages and backgrounds. We lead our congregation in worship, deepening the connection to God, understanding the teachings of Christ, and ultimately to a vibrant faith.  We have a long, proud history of serving the people of ROCKMART. Through the dedication of our leadership, staff members and volunteers, we are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and are here to spread His message. Our Pastor: 
Rev. Jason N. Odom

Rev. Jason Odom and his family are from the Birmingham, Al area where he has lived since 1987.  He lived in the suburb called Pleasant Grove, where he attended high school and graduating as valedictorian.  Upon graduating from high school, he attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.  From there he attended The University of Alabama, where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations.  In 2012, he graduated with a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School of Samford University and in 2014, he graduated with a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Since 2009, he has been a Supply Preacher for various churches in the Birmingham area and he worked as a Research associate to the Dean of Beeson Divinity School until he came to First Baptist Church in March 2017.
In 2012, Jason and Michaela were married and now have two beautiful children, James and Lucy.

Our Staff:

Edie began working at First Baptist in August of 2014.  Edie and her husband, Todd Brown have two children, T. J. ( married to Kaley Brown) and Jordan Brown.  Todd pastors Yorkville Baptist Church here in Rockmart.  Edie graduated from Georgia Highland in 1989 with an associates degree in Business/Marketing and Managment and from Georgia Northwestern Technical College in 1988 with a diploma in Marketing and Management.

 Andrew Carter is from Cedartown, Georgia and a 2004 graduate of Cedartown High School.  He has had a love for music and for sharing music all of his life.  From piano lessons to playing trombone in the band to singing in his church choirs, Andrew has used music to show his joy for life and for God. 

     He is Station Manager for WGAA in Cedartown, GA.  He is also an officer and lead trombone for the Roman Festival Brass.  Andrew is a BIG Atlanta Braves, Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs fan.

A retired educator, Rita is now the founder and CEO of RGC Educational Consulting, Inc. She has been a church pianist some where since 1982. She brings a wealth of talent and energy to every worship service. Rita is pianist for a number of other community events. We look forward to hearing her playing every Sunday. She even plays the French Horn.

Dr. Rita Carter

As the wife of a retired pastor, Lavinia has been in church music a long time and her love for the pipe organ is evident every service. A pipe organ is often associated with lofty traditional anthems, but Lavinia knows how the "pull out some stops" that bring a unique and pleasant quality to worship.
